Former Kansas welfare worker says illegal immigrants abused the system

TOPEKA | A hearing on an Arizona-style immigration law drew impassioned testimony today including a statement from a former welfare worker who described “overwhelming” levels of fraud by illegal immigrants.

Lana Reed, who worked as a bilingual specialist for the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services in Overland Park from 2008 to 2010, urged lawmakers to adopt the bill targeting illegal immigration.

She described a system overrun by illegal immigrants who used false Social Security numbers and other fraudulent documents to game the system.

Why does the state of Ohio hire contractors that utilize illegal aliens for labor?

I am not a racist. This has nothing to do with people being hispanic. Currently my company has 3 school contracts in the Cincinnati area. The jobs are being stopped constantly because the same contractor is in charge of the masonry and can’t seem to get his elevations right. The owner is hispanic and has literally a team of 40 or so illegal aliens and two or three US citizens working for him. His foremen do not speak Spanish and they cannot get anything right. Utah Latino groups urge boycott of stores, banks in protest of illegal immigration bills

SALT LAKE CITY — Several Latino groups are calling on their community to not shop at any Utah stores for two weeks in protest of an enforcement-only illegal immigration bill.

"We are not going to buy anything for 15 days," Jose Gutierrez, president of the Utah Hispanic Latino Coalition, said Thursday.

Bill Introduced To Make English Official U.S. Language

Congressman Steve King (R-Iowa) and Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) recently introduced legislation in both chambers aimed at establishing English as the official language of the United States government.

“A common language is the most powerful unifying force known throughout history,” King said. “We need to encourage assimilation of all legal immigrants in each generation. A nation divided by language cannot pull together as effectively as a people.”

“This legislation will provide much-needed commonality among United States citizens, regardless of heritage,” Inhoffe said. “As a nation built by immigrants, it is important that we share one vision and one official language.”

Illegal Immigrant and convicted killer, but set free

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - After 16-year-old Ashton Cline-McMurray was brutally murdered, his mother took some comfort in hearing that at least some of her son's killers would never walk American streets again.

It's the reason why Sandra Hutchinson agreed with letting the purported gang members, several of them illegal immigrants, plead guilty to lesser charges. She says the prosecutor reassured her that, after their criminal sentences were finished, those in the country illegally would be deported.

"They said that they would never set foot, basically on American soil again. In other words, they'd be like in jail until they got sent back," Hutchinson said.

It's no wonder Hutchinson wanted her son's killers gone. Her son was disabled with cerebral palsy when he was attacked while walking home from a football game in Revere.
