Westlake Police Arrest Suspectd Undocumented Immmmigrants (Westlake, Ohio - June 27, 2009)

Westlake police are holding seven Latino men and two women for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency.

The group was traveling east on Interstate 90 at 11 a.m. today when a patrolman pulled their van over for tailgating and making an improper lane change, Capt. Guy Turner said.

The driver, Miguel Villareal-Diaz, 25, speaks English. The others do not, police said.

Villareal-Diaz said he had picked up five of his passengers in Oklahoma. He declined to answer other questions.

ICE agents will take the group into custody this afternoon, Turner said.
