Government Website For Immigrants: Come To America And Take Advantage Of Our Free Stuff

End of the American Dream

A website run by the federal government (“WelcomeToUSA.gov“) encourages new immigrants to the United States to apply for welfare benefits.  This website is run by the Department of Homeland Security and it says that it “is the U.S. Government’s official web portal for new immigrants.”  So your tax dollars were used to build and maintain a website that teaches immigrants how to come into this country and sponge a living off of federal welfare programs paid for by your tax dollars.  What in the world is happening to us?  Yes, we will always need some legal immigration.  We are a nation of immigrants and immigration has been very good to this country.  But at a time when there are millions upon millions of American citizens out of work and at a time when we are absolutely drowning in debt, do we really need to encourage millions more immigrants to come over and take advantage of our overloaded social welfare programs?  WelcomeToUSA.gov actually encourages new immigrants to apply for food stamps, Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, Supplemental Security Income and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.  Of course not all immigrants are eligible for all of those programs, but if an immigrant can get over to the U.S. and just get signed up for a couple of programs they can enjoy a higher standard of living doing nothing here than they can working at a low paying job back home.  We have created a perverse system of incentives that makes it very attractive to people all over the world to do whatever they can to hitch a ride on “the gravy train” and take advantage of all of the benefits that they possibly can.  And once immigrants get on welfare, many of them never leave.  For example, one study discovered that 43 percent of all immigrants who have been in the United States for at least 20 years were still on welfare.  We can’t even take care of our own citizens, and yet more immigrants hop on to the safety net every single day.  At some point the safety net is going to break and then we won’t even be able to take care of the struggling Americans that really need it. 4,591 young illegal immigrants get deportation reprieve

USA Today

7:14PM EDT October 12. 2012 - The Obama administration has granted 4,591 young illegal immigrants a two-year deportation reprieve under a new program created two months ago, according to statistics released by the Department of Homeland Security on Friday.

The administration began receiving applications for the "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals" program in August, and they have since taken in 179,794 applications, according to the Department of Homeland Security. They have scheduled 158,408 of those for biometric appointments, where officials will take applicants' fingerprints to conduct criminal background checks.

Up to 1.7 million young illegal immigrants could qualify for the program, according to the Pew Hispanic Center.

No applicants have been officially denied yet. But DHS has sent 1,825 applicants that don't appear to qualify a "Notice of Intent to Deny" form, which gives them 30 days to provide more evidence or correct mistakes, or a "Request for Evidence," which gives them 84 days to fill in gaps in their application.

Under the program, illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. before their 16th birthday, who are currently in school, have graduated high school or have served in the military, and have a clean criminal record can receive a two-year deferment of their deportation. They can also apply for a work permit during that period. After the two years, they can reapply for another two-year deferment.-[Full Article]

Young face put on illegal migration at DNC

Noncitizen takes convention stage

Washington Times

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Democrats broke yet another barrier Wednesday when they invited an illegal immigrant young adult onto the stage at their nominating convention in Charlotte — part of a historic Hispanic outreach program the party hopes will cement ties to the fast-growing ethnic voting bloc in the country.

It’s likely the first time an illegal immigrant has taken the podium at a major party convention, and highlights President Obama’s own stance on the issue: The student, Benita Veliz, had her deportation halted under Mr. Obama’s non-deportation policies.

California to Issue Driver's Licenses to Illegal Immigrants

The New American

The California state Assembly on Thursday voted in favor of a bill that would permit the Department of Motor Vehicles to issue driver's licenses to illegal immigrants who are eligible for work permits under a new policy handed down from the Obama administration. The bill is on its way to Governor Jerry Brown’s desk to be signed into law.

Fox News reports, “Democratic Assemblyman Gil Cedillo [pictured above, next to photo of California's state capitol] of Los Angeles said he wrote AB 2189 to make roads safer, and allow young immigrants to drive to school and work.”

The bill passed in California’s Assembly by a vote of 55-15 after it passed in California’s Senate on Wednesday by a vote of 25-7.

The only other states to issue driver’s licenses to undocumented immigrants are New Mexico, Utah, and Washington.-[Full Article]

10 Things That Will Happen If Barack Obama Continues To Systematically Legalize Illegal Immigration

End of the American Dream

Barack Obama seems completely obsessed with systematically legalizing illegal immigration.  The United States borders a failed narco-state that is one of the most crime-ridden nations on the entire planet, but Barack Obama refuses to secure the border and the consequences for the American people have been absolutely catastrophic.  Right now it is already costing us tens of billions of dollars a year to provide welfare for illegal immigrants and to educate their children in our public schools.  Right now illegal immigrants are already working millions of jobs that should belong to American workers.  Right now Mexican drug cartels are already active in more than 1,000 U.S. cities.  But apparently that is not good enough for Barack Obama.  He wants to roll out the red carpet and give the green light to tens of millions more illegal immigrants.  Last year, Obama issued a list of 19 factors for government officials to use when deciding whether to use "prosecutorial discretion" in deportation cases.  In essence, under that new set of rules criminals and "national security threats" were to be deported and virtually everyone else was to be allowed to stay.  But now Barack Obama has taken things to a whole new level.  Now, if you are under the age of 30, came to the United States under the age of 16 and have lived here for at least five years you will be able to apply for legal status and a work permit.  With the election less than 6 months away it is obvious that Barack Obama is pandering for votes.   But this kind of "banana republic politics" is only going to divide America even more deeply and is going to result in some very serious pain for this nation in the years ahead. Is Obama making himself ‘legal’ in removing 800,000 illegal immigrants from deportation?

Canada Free Press

Knowing now that nothing ever happens by chance with Barack Hussein Obama; that everything is, and has been scripted for him by Marxist progressives, shouldn’t folk be looking beyond the obvious on his Executive Order on Amnesty?

Is Barack Obama’s Amnesty bombshell removing 800,000 illegal immigrants from the deportation process the X That Marks the Spot to the real reason why his birth certificate remains missing?

Is the more valid number taken off the deportation process 800,000 illegal immigrants—and one? Is Obama granting amnesty to himself?

Have the elusive documents of the 44th President of the United States been waiting for birth in the Amnesty bombshell?

Being famously undocumented himself, Obama has made it de rigueur for others to be comfortable in the now accepted state of “undocumented”. After all, if the Commander and Chief can get away with running a country as someone completely undocumented, then it’s got to be kosher for most anyone else.

Bypassing Congress, the high-handed Obama administration announced Friday it will stop deporting illegal immigrants who come to the U.S. at a young age, something their parents and relatives would certainly cheer.-[Full Article]

Kris Kobach: Immigration isn't just a federal matter

April 16 (Reuters) - The battle over illegal immigration heads to the U.S. Supreme Court next week, when the high court will hear arguments for and against new Arizona laws requiring police, employers and landlords to expose undocumented immigrants. Arizona of course is not alone in its crackdown on illegal immigrants, with states including Alabama, Georgia, Utah, as well as a number of cities, passing similar measures. The movement's chief legal architect is 45-year old Kris Kobach, a former constitutional law professor, current secretary of state of Kansas and adviser to Mitt Romney on immigration issues. While Kobach is not arguing in the Arizona case, he has been helping other states and cities defend their laws against challenges by the Justice Department and civil rights groups.

Reuters' Terry Baynes recently caught up with Kobach to discuss the issue of state versus federal authority in immigration matters. The questions and answers were edited for clarity and brevity. - [Full Article]

A Hidden Cost of Illegal Immigration: Health Care Provided by ICE

The Virtuous Republic

ICE, Immigration, Customs, and Enforcement, provides health care to approximately 32,000 illegal aliens held at detention facilities. Now, before you say it, yes, immediate health concerns that threaten the detainee’s life should be taken care of, or if there is threat to public health, but from this ICE press release, it sounds like the inmates are receiving proactive care and treatments that could wait until they are sent back to their home country. Getting free and extensive health care should not be a reward for crossing the border illegally.

And, if we lived in a sane country, 98% of this could be avoided if illegals were immediately shipped back home. - [Full Article]

Obama proposes new rule for immigrant families

Illegal immigrants who are immediate relatives of citizens could stay in the U.S. while applying for permanent residency. The goal is to reduce a family's time apart.

Los Angeles Times

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is proposing to make it easier for illegal immigrants who are immediate family members of American citizens to apply for permanent residency, a move that could affect as many as 1 million of the estimated 11 million immigrants living here illegally.

The new rule, which the Department of Homeland Security will post for public comment Monday, would reduce the time illegal immigrants are separated from their American families while seeking legal status, immigration officials said. Currently, such immigrants must leave the country to apply for a legal visa, often leading to long stints away as they await resolution of their applications.

The proposal is the latest move by the administration to use its executive powers to revise immigration procedures without changing the law. It reflects an effort by President Obama to improve his standing among those Latino voters who feel he has not met his 2008 campaign promise to pursue comprehensive immigration reform. - [Full Article]

Man pleads guilty to drug charges but still ducks part of age question

The Columbus Dispatch

The Mexican man accused of operating a drug ring that supplied marijuana to tattoo-shop owner Edward Rife – whose connections with Ohio State University football players created a huge scandal last year -- pleaded guilty today to two felonies in federal court.

And perhaps just as importantly, he finally admitted that he was an adult when he committed the crimes...[Full Article]

Obama continues to quietly grant amnesty...piece by piece

Examiner

The Obama administration which has become infamous for the ‘Friday night document dump,’ has dropped yet another administrative amnesty on yet another Friday.

Yesterday, the U.S. Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services announced the agency’s proposed rule change which will allow illegal alien spouses and children to stay in this country while seeking legal residency status, rather than waiting for a green card back home.

Under the new rule, they will supposedly have to return home to visit a U.S. consulate for an interview. However, this will be but a formality...[Full Article]
