Stop Feinstein's amnesty in Senate today & shame Pelosi's kill attempt on SAVE Act in House

THIS IS URGENT FRIENDS,

1. Sen. Diane Feinstein is set to try this afternoon to add an amnesty for illegal-alien ag workers to the Iraq supplemental spending bill. We need your phone calls to stop this.

2. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has strong-armed anti-illegal-immigration Democrats to withhold their support for enforcement and is in the process of killing the SAVE Act for the year -- unless NumbersUSA Activist Network users respond in massive counter-attack.
For instructions on phone calls and faxes, go to your Action Buffet corkboard.

Also, you will probably be getting emails later today with direct links to the needed actions. Our cause needs a lot of help today and tomorrow.

STOP FEINSTEIN'S AMNESTY IN COMMITTEE

Our NumbersUSA Capitol Hill Team got several confirmations through both Democratic and Republican sources that Sen. Feinstein (D-Calif.) was preparing to add an ag amnesty to the Iraq bill Thursday afternoon in the Senate Appropriations Committee.

We don't know the details of the amnesty. There is some chance she may try to slip it through by not including permanent legalization but just giving one or two million illegal ag workers a 5-year amnesty that allows them to work and live here while further sinking roots. The open-borders champions hope that the longer illegal aliens stay the more difficult it will ever be to deny them U.S. citizenship.

We need phone calls into the offices of members of the Senate Appropriations Committee -- massively and immediately!

202-224-3121

If you live in the state of one of these Senators, please make a phone call immediately.

If you don't have a Senator on the Committee, you may want to call a Senator in another state with which you have some attachment. We particularly need extra phone calls to Senators from small-population states.
Here are the Appropriations Senators who need your call:
Alexander (R-Tenn.)
Allard (R-Colo.)
Byrd (D-West Va.)
Bennett (R-Utah)
Bond (R-Mo.)
Brownback (R-Kan.)
Cochran (R-Miss.)
Craig (R-Idaho)
Domenici (R-N.M.)
Dorgan (D-N.D.)
Durbin (D-Ill.)
Feinstein (D-Calif.)
Gregg (R-N.H.)
Harkin (D-Iowa)
Hutchison (R-Texas)
Inouye (D-Hawaii)
Johnson (D-S.D.)
Kohl (D-Wis.)
Landrieu (D-La.)
Lautenberg (D-N.J.)
Leahy (D-Vt.)
McConnell (R-Ky.)
Mikulski (D-Md.)
Murray (D-Wash)
Nelson (D-Neb.)
Reed (D-R.I.)
Shelby (R-Ala.)
Specter (R-Pa.)
Stevens (R-Alaska)

Your message is basically that you have heard of Sen. Feinstein's desire to attach an illegal ag worker amnesty to the Iraq spending bill and that you object. You can quickly state why any kind of amnesty is bad -- particularly in the middle of a recession.

You may also point out that there is no excuse for growers hiring illegal aliens. North Carolina growers, for example, have set up a North Carolina Growers Association that meets all of the ag labor needs through local workers and through legal foreign workers brought through the H-2A visa which ensures that the guest workers go home. Why shouldn't California growers play by the same rules as law-abiding farmers in other states?

Based on past experience, there is a good chance that Feinstein will decide not to introduce her amnesty Thursday afternoon if she feels there is a major move against it. That's what we want. Please let every member of the committee know just how worked up citizens get as soon as they hear of a possibility of an amnesty.
PROTEST SPEAKER PELOSI'S STRONG-ARMING OF DEMOCRATS TO KEEP THEM FROM SUPPORTING THE SAVE ACT

Don't let anybody kid you about what is happening with the SAVE Act efforts to stop outlaw businesses from hiring illegal aliens.

North Carolina Democrat Heath Shuler's SAVE Act is an incredible threat to the unscrupulous and unpatriotic businesses of America who insist on illegal labor to hold down their labor costs. Most business owners are not like that. But the outlaw businesses have the ear of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and of her House Democratic leadership.

Pelsosi and her team are strong-arming Democrats to make sure they do not sign the Discharge Petition that would bring the SAVE Act to the floor for a vote. They know it would easily pass if there is a vote.

Even though 49 House Democrats have co-sponsored the SAVE Act, only 10 have signed the Discharge Petition.

The other 39 Democrats have heard the message loud and clear that if they sign the petition and it gets the necessary 218 signatures to force a vote, those Democrats should not count on any favors or help for their congressional Districts from the House leaders. In a sense, they are being threatened with being shunned by their Party.

Our Action Buffet team has put up a fax for every one of you to send to your own Representative to break Pelosi's intimidation racket. Please take the actions related to this that you will find on your corkboard.

THANKS,
Roy
