Exclusive--Border Patrol Rep Claims Agents Being Ordered to Stand Down

[Breitbart - http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/10/02/Exclusive-Border-Patrol-Management-Orders-Agents-to-Stand-Down-While-Tracking-Smugglers ]

The National Border Patrol Council has come forward to reveal to the American public once again management practices that could be risking the lives of Americans -- and the lives of illegal immigrants.

Shawn Moran, Vice President of the National Border Patrol Council, spoke exclusively with Breitbart News and claimed that Border Patrol management has begun the practice of ordering Border Patrol Agents to stand down and cease pursuing drug smugglers, human smugglers and traffickers, and illegal aliens. He also warned it could lead to illegal aliens entering the country from nations associated with terrorism.

“It doesn’t matter whether it’s drugs, bodies, or how large the group is, our agents are being ordered to stand down by Border Patrol management,” said Moran. "I have received reports from our agents in every single sector from San Diego to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas that they are receiving these orders."

National Guard troops deploy to border Wednesday

— California National Guard troops will take up their posts along the U.S.-Mexico border today, becoming the first to hit the ground in response to President Barack Obama’s directive to reinforce Border Patrol agents overwhelmed by drug smugglers and illegal immigrants.

They will be part of the first wave of California troops who will be deployed as they complete training. All 224 committed by the governor will be on the ground by Sept. 1, officials say.

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is expected to meet with some of the troops today and tour the border to mark official deployment.

In remarks prepared for the visit, Schwarzenegger will praise the troops and once again urge the president and Congress to set aside partisan differences to pass an immigration overhaul.

“These men and women will provide much-needed assistance to help secure our border, but it’s important to remember that this is only the beginning,” he says.

“We must find a permanent solution to our broken immigration system. We need the federal government to step up with even more manpower and funding and I will continue to push President Obama and Congress for action.”

He plans to laud not only the troops here — who volunteered for this duty — but the Guard in general.

“Our soldiers and airmen are true action heroes who respond to disasters at home and overseas,” according to his statement.

Brig. Gen. Mary Kight, who serves as adjutant general of the California National Guard, will join Schwarzenegger.

“The California National Guard is proud to be at the forefront of homeland security,” she says in remarks prepared for today. “Our soldiers and airmen bring a high level of civilian career expertise and military training to the mission that allows them to be a superb force multiplier to the Border Patrol.”

California’s troops will not be confined to the border. Some are likely to take up posts along routes used by smugglers of drugs and immigrants.

The troops will be armed, but are generally considered support personnel. They will call in U.S. Border Patrol agents when they spot suspicious activity...

Border Patrol Agents Blast Obama Administration

While the politicians and activists in Washington, DC and throughout the nation condemn the Arizona immigration enforcement law (SB1070), the news media has failed to cover the reaction of the people who patrol U.S. borders on a daily basis.
"We are receiving reports today that Eric Holder and DOJ have signaled that they are likely to challenge SB1070 [Arizona immigration law]. If this development wasn't so sad, it would be funny," according to the membership of the National Border Patrol Council Local 2544, which represents U.S. Border Patrol agents in Tucson, Arizona.
While lamenting the disinterest in the Obama Administration for border security and immigration enforcement, Local 2544 officials said,"Now, [Attorney General Eric] Holder and DOJ [Department of Justice] apparently have found resources to challenge SB1070. This is an obvious political ploy, and Americans should be outraged if they actually go after a state for trying to do something about the out-of-control illegal immigration mess."...

Mexico Condemns U.S. Border Protection

Translation of a Mexico City news story by the National Association of Former Border Patrol Officers reveals that the Mexican Senate wants President Felipe Calderon to send a message to the U.S. asking that plans to continue to protect its border against illegal immigration be dropped. ("Mexican Senate reproaches U.S. for measures against migrants")

According to the report, Barack Obama's plan to finish part of the virtual fence displeased the Mexicans, as did his failure to cut the number of Border Patrol agents.

The Mexicans say that Obama "went back on his promise he made to all Hispanic groups that supported him..." The Mexican Senate claims he is "closing the border," and is asking the Mexican president to manifest "an estrangement" because U.S. border enforcement is a violation of human rights. (This action by the Mexican Senate went unreported in the U.S.)...
