Illegal Immigration Election Results Certified By Fremont Council

(Fremont, NE) -- The city of Fremont, Nebraska has officially banned illegal immigrants from working and living in their city.
Former City Councilman Bob Warner started the effort two years ago by proposing the ordinance.
It was voted down by the city council, but kept alive in the form of a petition.
It then went to the voters and passed.
The Fremont city council officially certified the elections results last night in front of a large crowd.
The new law, which takes effect on July 29th, means all landlords and employers will have to electronically verify a person's legal status before renting or hiring.
The ACLU has promised to challenge the law in court.

Lightning strikes twice at Cobb County courthouse

According to state and federal laws, public business entities are to use the E-Verify system to check an alien's eligibility to work within the US. However, a few months ago, it was discovered that illegal aliens were working on the Cobb County courthouse project. Approximately 15 illegal aliens were removed from the worksite. Fast forward to July 2010; two of the previously removed illegal aliens are back working on the courthouse site.

The group, Jobs for Georgians, exposed the initial violations several months ago and now they wonder how illegal aliens can be back on the worksite just a few months later...

Bill White and La Raza Love ‘Open Borders’

If Bill White is elected governor of Texas, will he order the U.S. Border Patrol to leave the state? Will he hand over the state of Texas to the government of Mexico? Yes, these questions sound outrageous, but it’s also outrageous that Mr. White is courting an endorsement from the National Council of La Raza.

La Raza coordinates community activism with other racist Hispanic groups that support an ‘Open Doors’ immigration policy and other dubious political causes. The Dallas Morning News disclosed that Bill White, the Democratic nominee in the 2010 Texas governor’s race, gave a speech to La Raza on Monday in San Antonio to outline his “5-point education program.”

According to Human Events, “key among the secondary organizations (of La Raza) is the radical racist group Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, or Chicano Student Movement of Aztlan (MECHA), one of the most anti-American groups in the country, which has permeated U.S. campuses since the 1960s, and continues to carve a racist nation out of the American West.”...

Latin American countries join forces with Mexico opposing SB 1070

PHOENIX — Two more Latin American countries added their own objections Tuesday to Arizona’s new immigration law.

In legal papers filed in federal court, Luis Gallegos, the ambassador to the United States from Ecuador, said his country wants to join Mexico in the fight to convince U.S. District Court Judge Susan Bolton to block the state from enforcing the law.

“Similar to Mexico, Ecuador has a substantial and compelling interest in ensuring that its bilateral diplomatic relations with the government of the United States of America are transparent, consistent and reliable, and not frustrated by the actions of individual U.S. states, in this case, Arizona,” Gallegos wrote. He said SB 1070 “raises substantial challenges” to relations between the two countries...

“Mexico!” by Alpha Maser

Lyrics:

Tin soldiers and O’s not comin’
Arizona’s on its own
This summer they’ll just keep comin’
Thousands more from Mexico

Gotta get down to it
Illegals are running us down
They Should have been gone long ago
What if the violence gets to you
Founding kids dead on the ground?
Claiming racism when you know… Better!

Tin soldiers and Barack’s not comin’
Arizona’s on its own
This summer they’ll keep comin’
Thousands more from Mexico

Gotta get down to it
Illegals are running us down
Should have been gone long ago
What if violence gets you
Found kids dead on the ground?
Claiming racism when you know… Better!

Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na.
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na.
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na.
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na.

22 Thousand dead in Mexico
Deputy Killed near Mexico
Rancher dead near Mexico
Officer down near Mexico
Drugs are flowing from Mexico
Aliens smuggle guns to Mexico
Prisons over crowded near Mexico
Hospitals over flowing near Mexico
Felons and gangsters from Mexico
Shut the border with Mexico

Sanctuary Cities, Illegal Immigrants, the Obama Government — What Comes Next?

Nearly five years ago, The Claremont Institute posted an article which provides the basic facts:

Across the nation cities from New York to Houston to San Diego forbid city officials—including police—from inquiring into anyone’s immigration status or cooperating with immigration officials. The police may not stop or detain persons solely due to their immigration status or even inquire into their status while making routine traffic stops or misdemeanor arrests. These policies have, in effect, created safe havens for illegal immigrants, including criminal aliens.

Cities began adopting sanctuary laws in the 1980s, supposedly to foster trust between illegal immigrants and police. Proponents argued that crimes would not be reported, witnesses to crime would not come forth and immigrants wouldn’t cooperate with police if they feared deportation. Yet the policies adopted reflect the power of immigration advocacy groups more than concerns about crime prevention. Politicians in large cities with significant immigrant populations simply surrendered to the demands of immigrant rights groups that sought to minimize—if not extinguish—the distinction between legal immigrants and illegal aliens. Nor is it only immigrants’ rights groups that promote sanctuary cities. Business interests want a steady source of cheap, compliant and exploitable labor; the minions of the welfare state want to magnify their power by extending the largess of the administrative state to those who will, in all likelihood, take their place in the so-called “underclass.”

The resulting policies not only tolerate crime—after all, illegal immigrants are lawbreakers—but actively abet and protect criminal activity by handcuffing the powers of the police.

Nearly five years ago, the Institute reported that a minimum of 400,000 illegal immigrants had “received final deportation orders from a federal judge,” yet “failed to show up for deportation.” Of these, nearly 100,000 were convicted criminals. The Institute reports: “In sanctuary cities police may not inquire into the deportation status of these aliens or apprehend them until they have committed another crime.”

Additionally, the Institute reported nearly five years ago, 25 percent of California’s prison population was illegal immigrants, “far in excess of their numbers in the general population. When these aliens finish their sentences they are subject to deportation. Yet it has been estimated that fewer than 50 percent of these criminals are actually deported.”

“Even criminal aliens who are actually deported later receive sanctuary in these cities upon their return to the United States,” the Institute reported. “Such returnees naturally look to sanctuary cities as safe havens.”

At this same time, Barack Obama was in the U.S. Senate. These were known facts. Keep this in mind...

Police: Illegal Immigrants Raped 14-Year-Old Texas Girl at July 4th Party
A pair of illegal immigrants raped a 14-year-old Texas girl at July 4th party in Texas, where the teen was later found sitting naked in a bathtub, police said.

The victim told police that she went to an Independence Day party with her cousin in Horseshoe Bay, Tex., about 40 miles northwest of Austin, where she was left in a room with Anibal Escobar, 19, and Anael Martinez, 22, MyFoxAustin reported.

The two Honduran natives, who told police they are in the U.S. illegally, made advances at the victim and then raped her, she told police. The victim’s cousin discovered her in the bathtub and brought her home.

Escobar and Martinez were arrested early in the morning on July 9 and face felony charges of aggravated sexual assault, MyFoxAustin reported. Local investigators contacted Texas Rangers to assist in their investigation and translate, as none of the witnesses at the party or the suspects spoke English.

Reid Declines Vote on Illegal Worker Plan

LAS VEGAS -- In this election season, Senator Harry Reid's campaign events often include claims of how many stimulus funded jobs he's created. But how many of these construction jobs are going to workers in the country illegally?

E-Verify is a computer program many employers use to determine if job applicants are U.S. citizens. Construction companies are not forced to use the official E-Verify system to determine if construction job applicants are in this country legally.

Republican Senator Jeff Sessions introduced an amendment in 2009 that would have made E-Verify permanent and mandatory for all construction companies. Senator Reid did not allow the idea to come up for a vote.

"The reason: we need to do comprehensive immigration reform. We cannot do it piecemeal," said Reid...

Lawless state enabled child’s rape

For a little girl who spent this weekend lying in a Massachusetts hospital, the debate over illegal immigration isn’t about race or politics.

It’s about life and death.

Four-year-old Heidi was brutally raped on Saturday. Now she’s listed in “serious” condition at Baystate Medical Center.

Springfield police have charged 22-year-old Edlizar Mazariegos with aggravated rape of a child with force. Mazariegos, who regularly traveled up and down the East Coast without a driver’s license, is an illegal immigrant. As of this writing, he is on the run from Massachusetts police - likely for the first time ever.

He’s certainly had no need to run before.

This is, after all, “Welcoming Massachusetts,” where liberal Democrats openly support benefits for criminal immigrants and oppose immigration law enforcement...

Sheriff's Employee Arrested as Illegal Immigrant

DALLAS - A detention service officer at the Dallas County jail was arrested Friday and charged with immigration violations.

Maria Elvia Ross has been a county employee for years. She was hired former Sheriff Jim Bowles in 2001 and has since served on Sheriff Lupe Valdez’s quality assurance team for improving jail sanitation.

It wasn’t until she applied for a sheriff’s deputy position that a background check flagged her immigration status.

The county says that out of the 1,300 detention service officers, none undergo regular background checks...

Illegal Immigration and sanity: Border Patrol in Northern Ohio (Sandusky County, Ohio - July 1, 2010)

If you live in a rural area, particularly one like Sandusky County, Ohio, where labor intensive crops such as tomatoes, cabbage, and cucumbers are prime earners for farmers, you are likely aware that large numbers of migrant farm workers travel the country to work the planting and harvest seasons. They preform hard work in return for pay that permits them a lifestyle that I doubt I would enjoy, nor would, I daresay, most of my readers (all three of you). Some of them do not possess the necessary documentation for them to accept money in exchange for services from a local farmer. In other words, they are “illegal” workers.

Before I go any farther, think about that for just a moment. Full grown adults-citizen and non-citizen alike-are legally barred by the State from entering the simplest of contracts. Why? How does this comport with the idea of a “free” country, if people must prove their status before some officious bureaucrat. And you must do that if you are a citizen, or not-if you work “under the table” you are a criminal in the eyes of the State just as much as if you crossed the border illegally. I fail to find a justification for such a thing under any theory of governance (or even lack of governance) that has any likening to individual freedom...

Cops hunt man accused of raping child

Cops are searching for a Guatemalan man accused of brutally raping a 4-year-old girl in Springfield on Saturday while the victim’s mother was working on a blueberry farm in Connecticut.

A Reagan Legacy: Amnesty For Illegal Immigrants

As the nation's attention turns back to the fractured debate over immigration, it might be helpful to remember that in 1986, Ronald Reagan signed a sweeping immigration reform bill into law. It was sold as a crackdown: There would be tighter security at the Mexican border, and employers would face strict penalties for hiring undocumented workers.

But the bill also made any immigrant who'd entered the country before 1982 eligible for amnesty — a word not usually associated with the father of modern conservatism.

In his renewed push for an immigration overhaul this week, President Obama called for Republican support for a bill to address the growing population of illegal immigrants in the country. This time, however, Republicans know better than to tread near the politically toxic A-word.

Part of this aversion is due to what is widely seen as the failure of Reagan's 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act. However, one of the lead authors of the bill says that unlike most immigration reform efforts of the past 20 years, amnesty wasn't the pitfall.

"We used the word 'legalization,' " former Wyoming Sen. Alan K. Simpson tells NPR's Guy Raz. "And everybody fell asleep lightly for a while, and we were able to do legalization."

The law granted amnesty to nearly 3 million illegal immigrants, yet was largely considered unsuccessful because the strict sanctions on employers were stripped out of the bill for passage.

Simpson says the amnesty provision actually saved the act from being a total loss. "It's not perfect, but 2.9 million people came forward. If you can bring one person out of an exploited relationship, that's good enough for me."...

Immigration cracks down on illegal cabbies

Weeks ago the Philadelphia Parking Authority mailed a letter to immigrant cabdrivers telling them that credit-card payments were owed to them and to come to the PPA to get paid, drivers said.

When 26 drivers showed up at the PPA garage and impoundment offices in South Philadelphia Wednesday, 23 wound up handcuffed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents who determined the cabbies were in the United States illegally, according to ICE spokesman Mark Medvesky.

All but four were released but their names were placed on a deportation list. Medvesky didn't detail why the four others were held...
