Problems have plagued barrier on Texas border
WASHINGTON — A new report released Thursday by the government's independent oversight office concluded that the trouble-plagued “virtual fence” along the U.S. border with Mexico is developing new defects faster than the old ones can be fixed.
The Government Accountability Office report comes on the heels of a decision by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to pull $50 million in Recovery Act funding from the program.
