11 Arrested In Illegal Gun, ID Raids

Eleven undocumented immigrants were arrested early Friday morning by agents investigating illegal firearm and identification sales, according to the Utah Attorney General's Office.

The raid began at a residence in Taylorsville where agents had previously made a controlled gun buy, said Assistant Attorney General Jake Taylor.

They did not find any more guns, but did arrest two people and get information that led them to a second and third house, Taylor said, where they arrested three more.

Agents served a second search warrant at a home where agents had purchased fake identification, Taylor said. Six people were arrested there, on suspicion of making false driver's licenses, green cards and social security cards.

All those arrested were in the country illegally, agents said.

Agents from several agencies, including the Utah Attorney General's Office, Immigration and Naturalization Enforcement, the Utah Highway Patrol participated in the raid.

Formal charges are expected early next week, Taylor said.
