ILLEGAL ALIENS, RICHMOND ROAD: An officer on patrol at 8 p.m. Friday, saw a trailer being pulled by a truck. The trailer had no lights and the truck was stopped.
The truck’s driver had only a Mexican driver’s license. When asked, he admitted he was in the country illegally. The passenger had an Ohio ID, but also admitted to be in the country illegally. The truck is owned by a Richmond Heights man.
Police contacted immigration officials who spoke to the men via telephone, then arranged to pick them up at the police station.

Two men were in the car and neither spoke English. The officer attempted to speak to the men in Spanish. The men were drinking and the car contained several empty containers of beer. The men were arrested and immigration authorities contacted.
It was found that the passenger in the car is a felon as he was already removed from the country once.
Dairy State Encourages Illegal Immigration Despite
Overhearing an ABC Nightline Show a couple of years ago, I listened about a state that was encouraging illegal immigration to fill a need for cheap and reliable dairy labor. What I heard caught my attention, so I took a seat in front of the tube to watch "A Different Side of the Illegal Immigration Debate" a story about Wisconsin and its dairy industry. My interest in the news story was its relation to growing incidences of identity theft...
Mexican labor on Vermont farms has been a not-so-secret secret for several years. It's estimated there are more than 2,000 illegal workers here. Farmers say even in this economy they cannot find Vermonters willing to do farm work and the hours required-- and that they need illegal labor to survive. Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vermont, has been working for years to get a program that would allow dairy workers to come in, stay for two or three years, and then go home so farmers won't have to break the law...
