Federal Government To Day Laborers: We're Here To Help

CONCORD — A crew of federal officials wandering into a day labor hiring zone used to mean one thing: It’s time to leave.

This wasn’t the case Thursday morning on Monument Boulevard. Armed with coffee, not handcuffs, investigators from the U.S. Department of Labor chatted warmly with Latino immigrant workers about how to find jobs without being exploited.

“We’re the feds, but the good ones,” said Paul Ramirez, speaking in Spanish inside the Michael Chavez Center, a gathering spot for day laborers. “We’re here to help workers.”

The unprecedented visit was part of a campaign to bring long-established workplace protections to the nation’s most vulnerable and underpaid workers, including those who have no legal right to be living in the United States...

10 Illegal Aliens In S.C. Admit To Bilking IRS Out Of $13 Million

Ten people illegally in the United States pleaded guilty for their involvement in a four-year, $13 million fraud against the Internal Revenue Service, acting U.S. Attorney Kevin F. McDonald said Thursday.

Nine defendants pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud and for entering the United States without authorization, Assistant U.S. Attorney David C. Stephens told The Greenville News .

The 10th defendant pleaded guilty to mail fraud and illegal entry, Stephens said. Senior U.S. District Judge G. Ross Anderson Jr. accepted the pleas and will sentence the defendants later.

“This is the largest tax fraud case that I’m aware of ever occurring in the district of South Carolina,” Stephens said. “This is an extraordinarily serious, large case.”...

11 Arrested In Illegal Gun, ID Raids

Eleven undocumented immigrants were arrested early Friday morning by agents investigating illegal firearm and identification sales, according to the Utah Attorney General's Office.

The raid began at a residence in Taylorsville where agents had previously made a controlled gun buy, said Assistant Attorney General Jake Taylor.

They did not find any more guns, but did arrest two people and get information that led them to a second and third house, Taylor said, where they arrested three more.

Agents served a second search warrant at a home where agents had purchased fake identification, Taylor said. Six people were arrested there, on suspicion of making false driver's licenses, green cards and social security cards.

All those arrested were in the country illegally, agents said.

Agents from several agencies, including the Utah Attorney General's Office, Immigration and Naturalization Enforcement, the Utah Highway Patrol participated in the raid.

Formal charges are expected early next week, Taylor said.

Illegal Immigrant Gets 168.5 Years For Assault

PHOENIX - The man dubbed as the "Chandler rapist" was sentenced to 168.5 years behind bars on Friday.

Santana Batiz-Aceves is an illegal alien. He was arrested in 2008 and admitted to preying on teenage girls, attacking them after their parents left for work.

Aceves plead guilty to a dozen charges last month as part of a plea deal, including child molestation and aggravated assault. He knew what he was going to get: 168.5 years...

Utah Enacts Universal Mandatory E-Verify Bill

Yesterday Utah Governor Gary Herbert signed a bill into law requiring Utah employers to use E-Verify to make sure their workers are legal. The bill passed both chambers of the legislature with large margins, making Utah the fourth state to require all employers to verify their workers (the others are Arizona, Mississippi, and South Carolina). Another 10 states require certain groups of employers, usually public agencies and contractors, to verify workers using E-Verify, and nine states have laws reinforcing federal law in other ways (for details, see here).

The bill attracted support from a broad base of constituencies, including a wide range of activist groups, small businesses, labor and a number of major business groups. Especially important was the strong support provided by "Tea Party" groups from around the state. All of the groups were motivated by the realization that E-Verify helps protect Utah citizens, especially children, from identity theft and fraud and that it levels the playing field for more than 1,700 employers in Utah who are currently using E-Verify while making sure that jobs go to legal workers...

RNC Chairman Meets Immigration Group, Side Differs On Outcome

So what exactly happened when the chairman of the Republican National Committee met with immigration activists Wednesday? According to a news release put out by the activists, he said he would try and recruit Republican support for comprehensive immigration legislation.

The RNC says he made no such commitment. The immigration activist who led the meeting said he did, but then backpedaled after being signaled by a staffer that he may have gone too far...

Is President Obama Ready For A Fight On Immigration?

In an editorial board meeting at The Star-Ledger Wednesday, U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez discussed a meeting with President Obama in which he urged the president to move quickly after the November election to enact immigration reform.

He also reacted to a bipartisan proposal from Sens. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). They have proposed a bill that would open a path to citizenship for the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in the United States today, along with tougher border security and a system for employers to verify the legal status of workers...

700 Illegal Aliens Cross Border, One Path, One Month

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zgnqpMP3GYE

http://www.borderinvasionpics.com

DHS head Janet Napolitano says that illegal aliens are no longer coming across the border. Video tells a different story though, as over 700 illegal aliens streamed past this one motion activated camera in a one month period. This is only one path, there are thousands of paths along our southern border just like this one.
Phoenix-Area Busts Yield 48 Illegal Immigrants

PHOENIX
— On Thursday and Friday, officers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety arrested two suspected human smugglers and turned 48 illegal immigrants over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Mexicans Facing Drug War Violence Could Seek Political Asylum In U.S.

The violent drug wars in Mexico could upend efforts to curb illegal immigrants.

The spreading violence of the drug wars along the Mexican border may have one unintended consequence. It could upend efforts to curb illegal immigrants by giving Mexican border-crossers a tool they never had before: a valid claim for political asylum.

For decades, immigrants coming from Mexico were denied asylum because Mexico was a stable and relatively peaceful democracy. But that is changing now.

Last week, at least 30 Mexicans from the town of El Porvenir walked to the border crossing post at Fort Hancock, Texas, and asked for political asylum. Ordinarily, their claim would be denied as groundless, and they would be turned back. Instead, they were taken to El Paso, where they expect to have their cases heard...

Next Cramdown On Taxpayers? It's Amnesty And It's Ba-a-ack!

But former congressman warns violence comes with illegals from south of border

A former member of Congress says last weekend's shooting death of an Arizona rancher on his own land is what will happen more and more unless America takes back its own borders – even as President Obama makes promises that ultimately could reward those who break federal laws to gain entrance to the U.S.

Former Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., now chairman of the Rocky Mountain Federation and co-chairman of TeamAmericaPac, told WND today, "Janet Napolitano lied and Rob Krentz died."...

Immigration Agents Bust Norfolk Document Mill

Federal immigration agents said they have uncovered another document mill capable of producing hundreds of counterfeit identification papers for illegal immigrants.

This is at least the fourth such operation in recent months that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has busted locally.

After a two-month investigation, ICE agents on Sunday raided a Norfolk home and arrested Fernando Alvarado-Uribe. A second suspect, his cousin Melesio Munoz-Uribe, disappeared before agents arrived. The location of the raid was not disclosed...

Obama And Fellow Socialists To Ram Through The New Amnesty Bill Soon!

Democrats drunk on Power and Jazzed by the Use of Dictatorial Tactics

Rogue tigers, having tasted human blood for the first time, often become "man-eaters." Man is an easy prey for the ruthless tiger. Now that the democrats in Washington have tasted the political blood of their constituents they have become emboldened to hunt again. This time they intend to use their successful back room, closed door, tactics to ram through the New Amnesty Bill referred to as the Comprehensive Immigration Bill. (Dictators, the world over, are just SO proud of the Democrats!)

The comparison between the Bolsheviks in 20th century Russia and the Socialist Congress of the US today is striking. Their driving force is their lust for raw power coupled with their completely insane ideology of a utopian society in which everything is free! That is all wonderful - until the money runs out and the nation collapses in on itself, as America is about to do -- if she is not rescued and rescued very soon...

Napolitano Rips GOP Immigrant Trespassing Bill

The former governor of Arizona took a shot Thursday at ongoing efforts by Republican legislators to enact state laws to make being in this country illegally a violation of state trespassing laws.

House OKs illegal immigration measure

“I thought I was right when I vetoed it the first time, I thought I was right the second time, I thought I was right the third time,’’ Janet Napolitano told her audience at Arizona State University.

Napolitano, who quit as governor more than a year ago to become homeland security secretary in the Obama administration, said the problem with the bill goes beyond strictly the “trespass’’ provision. In the past -- as in the current version awaiting House action -- it also includes language which would require police to check the immigration status of everyone with whom they come into official contact...

Latino MECha Website Rallies Members For 'Immigration Reform'

MEChA, a racist Latino organization that has several chapters in Los Angeles and makes even the KKK look soft, is working towards "immigration reform." Many posts on the site urge their members to fight for immigration reform. It actually looks pretty innocent. However, given that their motto is "For the Race, everything, outside the Race, nothing," one has to be suspicious about their motives.

MeChA reminds its members that they must bring to the mind of every young Chicana and Chicano that the liberation of her/his people from prejudice and oppression is in her/his hands and this responsibility is greater than personal achievement and more meaningful than degrees, especially if they are earned at the expense of her/his identity and cultural integrity.

MEChA and their corrupt followers believe that the United States is evil and "stole land" from Mexico. They forget to mention a little treaty called the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. They also forget to mention that several of the people who fought against Mexico were Mexicans themselves. The fact that MEChA is supported strongly by liberals shows how hateful, racist, and misinformed many liberals really are.

Death By Illegal Alien...Think Illegal Immigration Is A Victimless Crime?...Then Read This Dad's Words

Allison Kuhnhardt and Tessa Tranchant, killed by illegal alien

Next week is the third anniversary of the tragic deaths of two beautiful Virginia Beach, Va. High school students. Their lives were over in an instant, and their families were forever changed, all because our federal, state, and local governments refused to take seriously, the ongoing invasion of this country.

On March 30, 2007, in Virginia Beach, Mexican national, Alfredo Ramos slammed into the rear of a vehicle in which Allison Kuhnhardt, 17, and Tessa Tranchant, 16, were stopped, while waiting at a red light. Ramos, 22, was traveling at a high rate of speed and was drunk at the time. He actually had nearly a .24 blood-alcohol level and could barely see the police officers in front of him. The two high school students had to be cut from their crumpled car and both later died after being taken to the hospital. Ramos suffered only a busted lip...
Police In Norfolk, Va. Aiding And Abetting Illegal Aliens

On Saturday, the Norfolk Police Department will conduct a seminar instructing those working in this country illegally on steps they can take when they feel they have been treated unfairly by their employers.

Norfolk Police Officer Damaso Medel will be leading the event, which will be held at the city’s Police Training Center.

Legal Aid of Eastern Virginia, various government welfare agencies, and illegal alien advocacy groups will be in attendance.

In the past year, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have uncovered two separate document mills in Norfolk, which produced thousands of fake Social Security cards, as well as other forms of identification for illegal aliens.

Despite pleas from the public, Norfolk officials continue to ignore the issue of illegal immigration, even in the face of increasing crime attributed to the city’s growing illegal alien population...
Robert Krentz Killing Stokes Fears Of Rampant Illegal Immigration

Speculation that the murder of Arizona rancher Robert Krentz is tied to illegal immigration has sparked calls for Homeland Security to send in the National Guard.

The killing of Arizona rancher Robert Krentz has prompted the state’s governor, its most influential senator, and its farming community to say that Washington is not doing enough to prevent illegal immigration and secure the border with Mexico.

Mr. Krentz was found Saturday, fatally shot and slumped over in his all-terrain vehicle, which still had its lights and engine on. Law enforcement officials tracked footprints from the scene back to the border, raising speculation that the killer is an illegal immigrant.

The apparent murder heightens the tension surrounding the immigration reform debate, with advocates of much stricter immigration controls saying Krentz's death highlights the urgent need for significantly increased border security.

Already, Krentz’s death is being held up as evidence that border violence is spiraling out of control as the Obama administration mulls immigration reform that could include a path to citizenship for some illegal immigrants in the United States...

Illegal Immigrant Suspected In Killing Of Arizona Rancher

PHOENIX -- A prominent southeast Arizona rancher likely was killed by an illegal immigrant, but there's no evidence to suggest there was any confrontation that led to the shooting, authorities said Monday.

The body of Robert Krentz, 58, was located before midnight Saturday on his 35,000-acre ranch about 35 miles northeast of Douglas after his brother reported that he had lost radio contact with Krentz earlier in the day.

At a news conference Monday, Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever said Krentz was out checking water line and fencing on the land Krentz's family has ranched since 1907. Krentz had weapons with him in his all-terrain vehicle but didn't use them, according to Dever.

Investigators said Krentz apparently came upon one person when he was shot. Krentz was heard telling his brother "illegal alien" on the radio earlier Saturday, and the area of the killing is a known smuggling corridor, according to authorities...

Ohio Senate Votes To Toughen Law Enforcement (Columbus, Ohio - March 24, 2010)

COLUMBUS — Taking aim at undocumented foreign workers, Senate Republicans on Wednesday, March 24, voted for a pair of bills that give local police and sheriffs a greater role in enforcing federal immigration laws.

The Senate voted largely along party lines 21-11 in favor of a bill sponsored that directs the state attorney general to seek an agreement with federal officials to allow specially-trained local police and sheriffs to enforce federal immigration laws...

Man Wanted In Kettering Rape Found In Michigan (Kettering, Ohio - March 26, 2010)

Police said a man who they believe is an illegal immigrant from Mexico is facing charges nearly two years after he allegedly raped a woman.

Officers in Kettering said the man went missing not long after he raped the woman inside her apartment.

Now, the man is being held in the Montgomery County Jail after officers found him in Michigan.

Michael Burke of the Kettering Police Department said of the case and the delayed arrest, “If it’s attached to your name or your personal information, then it’s not going to go away.”

Investigators said in July 2008, Paulino Ocana, now 25, raped a woman inside her apartment in the 3200 block of Gracemore...

California Must Stem The Flow Of Illegal Immigrants

The state should go after employers who hire them, curb taxpayer-funded benefits, deploy the National Guard to help the feds at the border and penalize 'sanctuary' cities.

The United States, and California in particular, has been built by immigrants who legally crossed our borders in search of a brighter future. For generations, these legal immigrants have made immeasurable contributions to creating a unique and vibrant California. As Americans and Californians, we are right to welcome people from all over the globe when they obey our laws and are willing to play by the rules.

Illegal immigration is another matter entirely. With the state budget in tatters, millions of residents out of work and a state prison system strained by massive overcrowding, California simply cannot continue to ignore the strain that illegal immigration puts on our budget and economy. Illegal aliens cost taxpayers in our state billions of dollars each year. As economist Philip J. Romero concluded in a 2007 study, "illegal immigrants impose a 'tax' on legal California residents in the tens of billions of dollars."...
21 People Arrested During Immigration Raids At Arizona McDonald's

Those arrested during the raid of four McDonald's in Scottsdale, Tempe and Mesa were being held on suspicion of identity theft.

PHOENIX -- A raid targeting illegal immigration led to the arrests of 21 Phoenix-area McDonald's workers Friday, and authorities were still seeking 30 other employees as part of their investigation.

Those arrested during the raid of four McDonald's in Scottsdale, Tempe and Mesa were being held on suspicion of identity theft. It will take more time to determine whether any of them are illegal immigrants as officials suspect, said Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Deputies also searched a mansion in the tony Phoenix suburb of Paradise Valley owned by Richard Coulston, who owns the restaurants, Arpaio said. Coulston was not arrested.

Deputies could be seen on local television stations swarming around Coulston's mansion, and McDonald's workers were shown crying and hugging each other.

It's a shame that Friday's arrests had to happen at the fast-food restaurant, which is "more than just a business," Arpaio said.

14 Year Old Illegal Alien To Be Tried As Adult For Rape, Robbery (Butler County, Ohio - March 23, 2010)

On Friday, in Butler County, OH, Alex Ramirez, 14, appeared before Juvenile Court Judge Ronald Craft and heard that he will be tried as an adult for the alleged rape and robbery of a 64-year-old Liberty Township woman.

The victim’s family was in court for the proceeding and testified to the deterioration of the woman’s health since the particularly violent attack. They reported that she has simply lost her will to live. Barely eating and drinking.

Her son said: “All she wants to do is sit and stare out a window.”

According to detectives with the Butler County sheriff’s office, armed with a pellet rifle, Ramirez entered his victim’s home in the early morning hours of Jan. 11. He then demanded money, beat and raped the woman, finally forcing her to drive him to an ATM...

Beating The Drum On Immigration

The group America's Voice, which has insisted that immigration reform is right around the corner for a solid year now, is continuing the drumbeat with this new spot to air in Washington, D.C. which says, among other things, "It's time to end illegal immigration."

"Leadership isn’t about scoring points. It’s about both parties working together to solve tough problems," says the narrator, who returns to the well-honed talking points of "comprehensive immigration reform": "securing our borders, cracking down on employers who cheat on payroll taxes and exploit cheap labor and requiring workers in the US illegally to pass background checks, study English and pay taxes before becoming full US citizens."

With Chuck Schumer and Lindsey Graham co-sponsoring legislation and a huge rally on the issue Sunday, there's at least a hint of momentum.

Illegal Amnesty Would Further Undermine American Workers

WASHINGTON
, March 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As President Obama and the congressional leadership revive efforts to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens living in the U.S., a new report from the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) concludes that such policies would severely undermine the interests of American workers. Amnesty and the American Worker also finds that record levels of immigration during the 2000s – both illegal and government mandated – have added new workers to our labor force faster than our economy has been able to create new jobs.

At a time when some 25 million Americans are either unemployed or involuntarily working part-time, amnesty legislation would legally entitle the estimated 7.5 million illegal aliens in our workforce to keep their current jobs, and compete with distressed American workers for any new jobs that are created. Proposed legislation, billed as "comprehensive immigration reform," would also increase the flow of legal immigrants who would compete for jobs in the U.S., while offering no concrete initiative for stemming the tide of new illegal immigration...

Immigration And The SPLC: How The Southern Poverty Law Center Inveted A Smear, Served La Raza, Manipulated The Press, And Duped Its Donors

This report examines the efforts by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) to smear the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) and, by extension, the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) and NumbersUSA.

With no serious analysis, the SPLC in late 2007 unilaterally labeled FAIR a “hate group.” That poisonous designation became the centerpiece of a “Stop the Hate” campaign launched by the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), also known as La Raza, to call on Congress and the media to exclude FAIR from the national debate on immigration.

The campaign gathered strength as newspapers across the country reported that FAIR had been “designated a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.” While the news stories generally included FAIR’s denial of the charge, thereby providing a semblance of balance, the designation’s taint lingered. The SPLC, presenting itself as a non-partisan, public-interest watchdog, never acknowledged — and no reporter ever disclosed — that the center was an active ally of the NCLR in the campaign.

The evidence presented here demonstrates that the SPLC became a propaganda arm of the NCLR. The SPLC’s decision to smear FAIR was the work of a kangaroo court, one convened to reach a pre-determined verdict by inventing or distorting evidence. The “Stop the Hate” campaign would more accurately be labeled as a campaign to “Stop the Debate.”...

Suspect In Shooting Of Deputy An Illegal Immigrant, ICE Says

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Tuesday that the man suspected of wounding an Adams County sheriff's deputy Saturday night is in the country illegally, 9News reported.

Sergio Estrada-Gomez, 25, faces charges of attempted second-degree murder of a public official and first-degree aggravated assault of a police officer.

Estrada-Gomez, who has been arrested on domestic violence and traffic charges in Denver and Adams County, was deported in 2007 but returned illegally, ICE told 9News.

Estrada-Gomez is suspected of shooting Deputy Alexander Kondos three times: in his left ankle, right thigh and chest. The bullet that hit Kondos' chest struck a bulletproof vest.

Kondos was treated and released from Denver Health Medical Center after the shooting.

Unemployment Tied To Lack Of Immigration Enforcement

Although President Obama says creating jobs is his top priority, his failure to enforce immigration laws at worksites has led to job losses for American workers. That is the message of a new television ad campaign by Californians for Population Stabilization (CAPS) and allied organizations concerned about unemployment.

"The United States is suffering its highest unemployment rate in decades, yet President Obama has cut jobsite enforcement of immigration laws by 60 percent. How seriously should we take his claims that he is focusing on this issue?" asked Diana Hull, the President of CAPS.

The ads note that over 8 million jobs are held by foreign workers who are in this country illegally and ask Americans to call the President to complain...
