These cards are issued by the Mexican Government and according to 2003 FBI testimony, are easily forged and not reliable ID. Many banks across the nation (SEE LIST BELOW, somewhat outdated) have succumbed to the pressure to accept these cards as ID and their use quite possibly has contributed in part to the banking meltdown we are currently facing. Our own Lake County Commissioners passed a resolution in 2005 advocating their acceptance as valid ID in Lake County!!

However, the banks named above continue to accept the MCC as acceptable identification for opening bank accounts and other banking services. Such bank policies put Americans and the US at risk because they give terrorists and others illegally in the US access to US banking services--which are used to support criminal enterprises ranging from ID theft to terror cell operations. Is your bank on this list? If it is, call them and ask them to stop accepting the MCC.
