I just spoke with House Speaker Husted's legislative aide.
He said SB17 which was introduced in the Senate by Sen Grendell Feb 07 and passed the Senate May 10, 07 was introduced to the House on May 15, 07!!!!
SB 17 is basically an " Under the Influence of Alcohol " bill and he expects it to be voted on next Fri May 30, 2008. He said there were compromises between Grendell and another Sen who introduced a similar bill at the same time and this held it up if you can believe that! Also, held up due to all the other more important issues they have been dealing with!
There will be more amendments, so we will look out for that.
Now, HB 477 is being voted on today May 22 when session begins at 1:30. It is an English Only bill requiring all government paperwork to be in English. START CALLING, FOLKS!!
Next HB 512 , addresses if you are driving under influence with a suspended license or without a license to a mandatory prison term. This is the bill that we notified you about having just passed committee and about to be voted upon.
I also asked him why HB308 had been bottled up in committee but I can't rememvber what he said, my head is so spinning with all this arcane maneuvering!!!
